Sonic Beds Vol. 2 (Ableton Instruments & WAV Files)

Sonic Beds Vol. 2 is a collection of 60 handcrafted Ableton instrument racks and 123 drone samples to use in any sampler. With emphasis on organic movement, deep atmospheres and rich textures.

Ableton racks require either the Standard or Suite version of Live 12.4.

There are two versions of this sound pack to chose from:
1. Ableton Instrument Racks and WAV Files
2. WAV Files Only

At the heart of this sound pack there are 123 stereo drone samples (116 tonal samples in C, 7 noise samples) made with almost all the tools my studio has to offer. Analog and hybrid synthesizers, a modular system, effect pedals. Each sound is individually tailored, processed, crunched, warbled and smeared before it was recorded to 1/4" tape and then re-recorded at 96KHz/24Bit with a RME Fireface UFX 2 interface.

All samples are stereo, around 60 sec. long and tuned to C (not counting pure noise) so you can use them in any sampler of your liking. You may need to convert the files to match the requirements of your instrument.

You can think of these sounds as oscillators with character. Load them in a sampler, activate looping and shape them into whatever your heart desires. These sounds feel right at home in almost any genre, from ambient & lofi to electronica & synth pop to film composition & game soundtracks.

The real magic happens when you layer them with each other. Which leads us to the Ableton instrument racks:

Sonic Beds Vol. 2 contains 60 readily playable Ableton racks all mapped with 16 macros for easy and intuitive music making and 6 patch variations per rack. In other words, this sound pack offers 360 unique presets before you even change a parameter.

In each rack, I combined between two and four samples via layers of 'Simpler' instruments, dialed in all parameters to bring out the best of those sounds, added modulation or secondary filters & dedicated effects.

New to Sonic Beds Vol. 2 is Animate - a small but powerful modulation group that adds even more movement to your racks. It allows subtle tonal shifts and ever-evolving soundscapes with minimal control.

And then there is Blanket. A handy new effects section that has two purposes: To help you fit each instrument into your mix - and to add a lovely lofi patina to your sounds. 

Just add dirt, warble and high frequency distortion. Or make your sounds more open and narrow if your mix requires it.
