Ambient Sampling is a 4-Day Online-Workshop on creating calm electronic music with samplers. Limited to 25 participants, the workshop takes place on two consecutive weekends, Saturday and Sunday each.

The dates:
January 17th & 18th, 2026 - 17:00-22:00 CET
January 24th & 25th, 2026 - 17:00-22:00 CET
(4 hours per session + breaks)

Both in theory and in practice, I will demonstrate various approaches of creating sample based ambient music. From recording your own sounds to working with drones and single cycle sounds. From building ambient beds and shaping melodies to chopping up loops and reworking them into something entirely new.

I will show you how to blend all these different styles together, work them into an arrangement and record them as a complete track.

Participants are encouraged to create something on their own with the techniques learned, so I can give feedback, either in the group or privately. But that is fully optional, there's no pressure at all.

The workshop will be recorded and sent to the participants afterwards.

What you need to take part:
- a Zoom account

- Basic knowledge of samplers and music production. (For example: What is an envelope for, what does a filter do, how does recording and trimming samples work, how to record a sequence, etc.)

- A somewhat modern sampler, either in hardware or software. I will use Ableton Live and an Elektron Digitakt 2 to demonstrate things, but the lessons will apply to all kinds of tools and instruments. (For example: Octatrack, SP404 MK2, OP-1, Blackbox, Squid Salmple, Chompi, Kontakt, Logic, Bitwig, etc.)
